Andrew Michael Weber passed away at University of Iowa Hospitals on May 21, 2025.

Andy was born May 28, 1939 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was adopted at birth by Michael and Vera Weber.

He graduated from Washington High School in 1958 and attended the University of Iowa. Andy served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1960.

Andy met the love of his life, Joan Bobst of Martelle, and they were married January 2, 1965. They had one son, Jason Weber, on February 19, 1970.

Andy worked with his dad, Michael, as a Master carpenter, building homes and doing all the finish work.

He was employed by Allis Chalmers, P&H Crane Company, and Cedarapids Incorporated. He retired in 2001.

He and Joan enjoyed wintering in Texas and spending time with their friends and family. They vacationed in Minnesota throughout the years as well, with many snowmobiling and fishing trips.

Andy had many hobbies. He was an avid trapshooter through the years and won many awards. Andy also drag raced in his younger years. He absolutely loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, fast cars, mushroom hunting, his beautiful wife, Joan, and spending lots of time telling stories and hanging out with his son, Jason, and his good friends, especially his trapshooting buddy, Bob Blin. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Madison and Jake.

He loved going to his favorite diner, Scott’s, for breakfast every morning, and meeting his friends there. His next stop was always the Rec Center to exercise every day. He was proud of that.

Andy is survived by his son Jason Weber, and daughter-in-law, Marcie; his grandchildren, Madison and Jake, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Vera, his brother, Clifford Lawon, and sisters, Helen Kelly and Tiny Kerres.

We would like to thank Dr. Wilbur and all her staff for their care, and also the Lisbon/Mt. Vernon Fire Department, Paramedics, and Police for all their help both times we needed to call them for Andy. They were so very wonderful.

We also want to thank the staff at the University of Iowa Hospital Emergency Room and Surgical Intensive Care Center. They, too, were wonderful.

A celebration of life will be planned this summer. We will be sure to notify everyone.
