MURFREESBORO, NC – Anastasia “Susie” Boutsouka Theodorakis, age 86, of Lawrence Street, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC.

Susie was born on February 6, 1936 to Konstantious and Margarita Outzi Boutsouka in Thessaloniki, Greece. She was effectionately known to many as YiaYia. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was dedicated to taking care of her family, always having her children’s back in all situations. Susie was very adventurous and enjoyed traveling, and it showed in supporting her husband in the military, moving from one location to the next. She was an avid bowler and loved to beat her grandchildren playing cornhole. She enjoyed the beach, when asked what her favorite color was, she responded with blue, ocean blue. She cherished her time spent with her family and the times she got to go fishing on the Nags Head fishing pier while at the beach. Susie also liked to frequent the casino while visiting her son in Delaware, however her true passion in life, other than her family, was nature. She always enjoyed spending time watching National Geographic. YiaYia was loved by many and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Konstantious “Gus” Stamatis Theodorakis, a daughter, Maria Theodorakis Evans, a sister, Rose, and a brother, Adam.

Left to cherish Susie’s memory is a daughter, Margarita “Rita” Erickson of Garner; a son, Stamatis “Tim” Theodorakis and wife Lisa of Newark, DE; a son-in-law, Dale Evans of Murfreesboro; granddaughter, Amber Nieradka and husband Ryan of Clayton; five grandsons, Timmy Evans and wife Allie of Murfreesboro, Tyler Theodorakis of Newark, Matthew Theodorakis of Newark, Nathan Erickson of Garner, and Aaron Erickson of Garner; a great-granddaughter, Brynn Rose Nieradka; and a sister, Katina Karrabasi.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, NC.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Riverside Cemetery, Murfreesboro, NC, with Rev. John Porter officiating.
