Alice M. Osterhus, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed on Jan. 10, 2023, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, is assisting the family.

Alice was born on July 8, 1945, in Waukon, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Goeke and Evelyn (Meyer) Goeke Sinnott. She graduated from Postville High School in 1963. On Aug. 20, 1966, she married Ronald L. Osterhus at Bethany Lutheran Church West Union, Iowa. They were married for 19 years and together they had two children Rachel and Brandon.

Alice worked as a loan officer for Citizen State Bank, Postville, Iowa and Cherry Burrell Credit Union, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for the majority of her work career. Later in life she worked for GSTC Trucking, Walford, Iowa, in payroll.

Alice loved playing card games, bingo, Rummikub and anything with her grandchildren out in the back yard. She was known for making up her own games like “hungry bear” and chasing them around the yard. They all have special memories of her chocolate chip cookies, crepes and whole milk as a special treat!

Alice is survived by her children, Rachel Young (Greg) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Brandon Osterhus (Brynn Vorwald) of West Union, Iowa; grandchildren, Lauren, Addison and Carter Young, Jenna, Krue, and Zuri Osterhus and Rhyker Klatt; brothers, Richard Goeke (Opal), Harold Goeke, Dale Goeke (Judy), Daryl Duwe (Yolonda), Lee Goeke (Sharon), Roger Goeke (Paula), Bruce Goeke (Brenda), Don Willis and Everett Willis; sisters, Mary Duwe, Joyce Spilde, Dorothy Boise (Ronald) and Sandra Goeke; brothers-in-law, Laverne Osterhus (Susan) and Richard Osterhus Jr.; sister-in-law, Lynette Gilbertson (Douglas); nieces, Selita Jansen (Terry) and Sheila Tedrow and many other nieces and nephews; aunt, Darlene Gatto; special friend, Harold Amundson; and beloved cat, Sonny.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Evelyn Goeke; infant son, Clint Osterhus; infant sister, Carol Goeke; and brothers, George Willis IV, Dean Willis and James Goeke.
