Abraham  Pringle

Abraham Pringle was born September 15, 1933, to Rev. Harold Pringle, Sr. and Sarah Alice (Giles) Pringle of Grays Hill, South Carolina. He was the second of 11 children.

The Pringle family relocated from South Carolina to Angola, N.Y. where he attended high school and developed a love of boxing and bowling. Abe was the Communication Zone Light Welterweight champion while stationed in Germany in the Army and a life-long member of the American Bowling Congress. He bowled in 37 years consecutive tournaments, before his health declined. He was successful in life while working for Niagara Frontier Transit, Sealtest, Cleveland Red Cross and Liberty Life Insurance where he retired in 1995.

He leaves to mourn his loving and supportive wife of 54 years, Gloria Ann Pringle (OH). His devoted children Franklin (VA), Frederick “Jerry” Pringle (OH) (Marilyn) and Rev. Felicia P. Hopkins (TX). His sisters; Elizabeth Pringle (NY), Mary Ann Pringle (SC), Bertha Pringle (NY). His brothers – William D. Pringle (SC) (Nerissa), John Henry Pringle (NY) and Arthur Lee (MI).

He was preceded in death by Rev. Harold Pringle Jr. (Clearease), Jonathan and Joseph Pringle and Rev. Eugene Pringle, Sr. His prized grandchildren are Tara Jefferson (Thomas) (OH), Simone Pringle (DC), Olivia Pringle (FL), Douglas Samuel Hopkins and Adam Hopkins (TX). They all loved him beyond measure. He also leaves several great grandchildren: Ayanna and Thomas (Jr.) Jefferson, Jennifer, Jakara, Erica (Tony), Jovan (Evangelina), Jordan, Alora, Samantha, Ethan, Tavon, Jullisa and Braylin.

His favorite sister-in-law was Rev. Pam Hunter (OH) and his favorite cousin was Gloria Magby Sweeney (OH). He always had fond memories of his former spouse – Alma Moody (Clarence) (KY). Abe will be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, bowling friends and dedicated teammates.
