Teen vaping and longterm use of e-cigarettes is the focus of two monthly parent engagement nights hosted this week by Carson City Juvenile Services in partnership with Carson City Health and Human Services.
The meetings are Monday Nov. 17 (in Spanish) and Tuesday, Nov. 18 (in English). Both meetings will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Carson City Health and Human Services, 900 East Long Street.
Health officials will address e-cigarettes and vaping products, the extent of the youth vaping epidemic, short-term and long-term effects of vaping. Officials will also offer guidance to help parents talk to their children, including resources for quitting tobacco products and electronic cigarettes.
The meetings are open for community members, families and students to attend.
Carson City Juvenile Services offers walk-in and crisis intervention Services to anyone in the community in need of supportive services with their youth.
