Canfield — Vera Marie Orosz, 76, of Canfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 23, 2025. Born July 16, 1949, she was the daughter of Harry Moore, Jr. and Betty Weiss Moore. A 1967 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, Vera would go on to spend 34 years working at RMI Titanium, first as a key-puncher and eventually in the Research and Development department. A devoted grandmother, she would retire in 2001 to begin caring for her grandchildren.

Vera was known to all who loved her as a woman of strong faith. A member of Austintown Community Church, she served as a youth leader, volunteered at the church’s stand at Canfield Fair’s Colonial Inn, and would go on to be an active member of the Ladies Aide society. Vera was a talented seamstress and always used her gifts to help others. She will be remembered for the beautiful quilts she made as well as her work with organizations such as Quilts From the Heart and the Linus Project. Vera was a world traveler throughout her life, venturing with her husband to far-off destinations like Iceland, New Zealand, South America, Africa, and Alaska.

Vera was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Gary, a daughter, Cari (Bryan) of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and two granddaughters, Madison of Cincinnati and Julianna of Beaver Falls. She is additionally survived by siblings Ruth Anderson of Phoenix, Arizona and Paul (Carolyn) Moore of Austintown. She is preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Vera’s Life will be held at Austintown Community Church on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11AM.
