UPDATE: US-50 reopens at Tahoe between Cave Rock and Warrior Way

UPDATE: Nevada Highway Patrol reports at 12:42 p.m. Monday that US-50 between Cave Rock and Warrior Way has been reopened following a gas line leak that was under repair.

A gas leak on US-50 at Lake Tahoe had closed both directions of the roadway Monday between Cave Rock and Warrior Way, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

At 11:45 a.m., a gas line was severed causing a gas leak at US-50 near Hidden Woods Drive. US-50 was then closed in both directions, said NHP Sgt. Chris Brown adding at the time there was no current estimate for reopening.

NHP advises people to avoid the area and use another route, such as State Route 207 over Kingsbury Grade.
