UPDATE: Apprehended; Prisoner escape reported at Carson City’s Stewart facility

UPDATE 7:20 p.m.: according to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong, Bauman was apprehended by Special Enforcement Team officers. We will update with further information when it becomes available.
The Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) reports that on Oct. 21, 2025, a minimum-security offender walked away from Stewart Conservation Camp in Carson City.
Offender Randy Bauman, 96464, was determined to be missing during the 6 p.m. count Tuesday.
Escape procedures were initiated, and search teams remain in effect.
Bauman was admitted to the NDOC on Oct. 2, 2024, from Carson City. Bauman, 47, was serving a sentence of 24-60 months for burglary of a business and ex-felon in possession of a firearm.
Bauman is a white male, 5 feet 10 inch tall, 170 pounds with blue eyes and is bald with a goatee. He has tattoo sleeves on both arms and “Breed of Hate” on his abdomen.
A retake warrant has been issued. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Bauman should immediately call 911 or NDOC Inspector General at 775-691-0842.
