Tracy Leon Grounds, 79, of Belle passed away April 21, 2025 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.

Born in Decota, West Virginia, Tracy was a heavy equipment mechanic of 43 years for Walker Machinery Company, an avid antique collector and a member of the Museum of Radio and Technology in Huntington. Tracy was the perfect example of the ‘all around’ fix-it guy and mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Mack and Mary Davis Grounds; his late wife, Vivian Lee (Collins) as well as, his best friend, Ted Gibson.

Surviving are his wife, Denise Grounds; daughters, Tracy Lynn Chapman of Belle, Pamela Walker (Ronnie) of Malden, Robin Baldwin (Jason) of Belle; brother Keith Grounds of Belle and grandchildren, Jessica Chapman (Aaron Cox), Jonathan Chapman, Benjamin Walker, Elizabeth Baldwin and Gabriel Baldwin. He is also survived by Tate Thomas, his mechanical apprentice, who enjoyed tinkering in the garage with him every chance he got.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2025 at Fidler and Frame Funeral Home, Belle.

In keeping with Tracy’s request, his cremation wishes will be honored.
