Pomfret Center – Sylvia (Pike) Perkins, 94, of Wade Rd., Pomfret Center, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Westview Health Care Center in Dayville, CT She was the loving wife of the late Walter Perkins. Born in Pomfret, CT, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Eliza (Baker) Pike.

Sylvia lived her entire life in the Pomfret area and surrounding towns. She graduated from Putnam High School in 1949, after which she held various jobs including housekeeping, working in local mills, and driving a school bus for special needs students, while raising her two boys, Mark and Glenn. She was a long-standing member of the Abington Congregational Church. Sylvia greatly enjoyed the company of others. Her favorite activities included travelling around New England, playing summertime Yahtzee in her garage with her dear husband Walter, playing pinochle with grandson Dustan, taking long walks with stepdaughters Jeanne and Elaine, and dancing and singing to the music of The Wade Elliot Band led by sons Mark and Glenn. She also treasured any time spent talking, laughing, and reminiscing with her best friend, Marion Scott of Pomfret, CT.

Sylvia is survived by her children, son Mark and wife Maryke Schlehofer of Pomfret, CT, son Glenn and wife Mary Schlehofer of Jackson Springs, NC, daughter Halina and husband Chris St. Laurent of Fitzwilliam, NH, and stepdaughter Jeanne Perkins of New York City, NY. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Dustan Schlehofer of Pomfret, CT, James and wife Suzanne Bartolomei of Little Rock, AR, and Lesley and husband Doug Young of Madison, CT, along with numerous great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and their families.

She was predeceased by her two brothers, Goodwin and Donald Pike, and stepdaughter Elaine (Perkins) Morse.
