Storey County Sheriff: Arrest made after sword stabbing leaves man in critical condition

On Saturday, May 31 at 1:59 p.m., Storey County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched for a reported stabbing at 401 Canyon Way in Lockwood.

Upon arrival, deputies located a 58-year-old man inside the home suffering from a stab wound to his stomach area. Deputies located 34-year-old Robert Olsen inside the home and took him into custody. Deputies recovered a 24-inch sword believed to have been the weapon used following an argument.

Olsen was placed under arrest and take to the Storey County Detention Facility for battery with use of deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm – aggravated assault. Bail: $40,000.

The victim was taken by Storey County Fire personnel to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition. This is an active investigation. Further updates will be provided when available.
