Obituary – Steven Michael Treanor

Steven Michael Treanor, age 67, of Lamoni, Iowa, the son of Michael Edwin and Eleonore Louise (McCall) Treanor, was born October 19, 1957, in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed from this life on June 9, 2025, at his Lamoni, Iowa home.

Steve grew up Catholic and started school in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a member of the North High School swim team before his family moved to Leon, Iowa. He graduated from Central Decatur High School in Leon. He served in the United States Navy in Cuba.

Steve was married to Tonya Raye Scott. They made their home in Decatur, Iowa and were blessed with daughter, Sierra. Later he had a 14 year relationship with Betty Rose (Booher) Alley. They were were blessed with son, Aaron.

Over the years, Steve worked as a roofer, for a car wash company, and as a concert stage hand. He loved listening to music, especially Reggae, watching television, and reading and studying about anything in space. Hitchhiking was his main mode of transportation. He was an intelligent, quick witted, smart guy with an off beat sense of humor who his family and friends will miss.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his Treanor grandparents, with whom he had a very close relationship. Survivors include his children, Aaron and Renee Alley of Leon and Sierra and Mike Greubel of Leon; grandchildren, Shira Alley, Rilee Alley, Cash Greubel, and Grey Greubel; siblings, David & Tammy Treanor of Waukomis, Oklahoma, Barb Rivas of St. Paul, Minnesota, Debbie and Bruce Hollis of Holman, Wisconsin, Terri and Tim Hargraves of Omak, Washington, Jim Treanor of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Nathan and Lindsey Veach of Dallas Center, Iowa; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

No services are planned at this time. Arrangements were through the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa.
