Shelby Grady

Shelby Wallace Grady, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Shelby was born in Johnston County on April 25, 1950, to the late William Henry Wallace and Silvia Virginia Stallings Wallace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Wayne “Moose” Grady; brothers, Phillip Wallace and Junior Wallace; and sister, Gill Harpel.

Shelby dedicated many years of her career to working in medical records at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Later, she could be found greeting customers and serving her community at Bojangles on Wayne Memorial Drive, where her friendly spirit was well known.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal service.

Shelby is survived by her beloved grandson, Lucas Ryan Grady; her daughter-in-law, Beverly Grady; and her nieces and nephews, William Harpel, Katrina Pulley, Stacy Harpel, and Jeffrey Edmundson.
