Rotary Club Senior Spotlight: Carson High’s Hannah Gerow

This week’s Rotary Club Senior in the Spotlight is a great example of perseverance, balance and determination. Hannah Gerow is someone who wears many hats and manages to excel in all of them.
On the court, she’s the starting middle blocker for the varsity volleyball team, which is currently sitting in second place in the Northern 5A region. She also leads the team in blocks with 32, showing her skill, focus and drive. In addition, Gerow competes on her club volleyball team that qualified for Nationals last year.
In the classroom, Hannah keeps a 3.31 weighted GPA while taking two honors classes and completing her Health Science CTE pathway through the Medical Assistant program. Outside of school and sports, she stays busy working her job, being part of the National Honor Society, volunteering with the new Boys Volleyball Club team.
What truly stands out, however, is that Hannah manages all of this while being a devoted mother to her two-year-old son—a challenge she has embraced with remarkable responsibility and care, all while keeping up with her academics and athletics.
After graduation, Hannah plans to attend Western Nevada College to study nursing and hopes to become a labor and delivery nurse. She’s grateful for the constant support of her dad and stepmom, who have helped her along the way.
Hannah Gerow is a shining example of resilience and drive, and we’re proud to recognize her as this week’s Senior in the Spotlight.
