We come together today to honor and celebrate the life of Ronald Lee “Joe” Coffey, a man whose laughter and love left a memorable mark on this world. Joe, as he was affectionately known to friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Glendale, Arizona, at the age of 67. Born on December 10, 1957, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Joe’s journey through life was one filled with joy, passion, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.

Joe is lovingly remembered by Cecilia Lopez, his significant other of 18 years, who stood by his side through life’s many adventures. His legacy continues through his children, Ronald Coffey Jr. “Joey”, Lisa Coffey, Karissa Coffey and son in law Hector Roman, who will carry forward his spirit of generosity and kindness. His eight grandchildren, Joseph, Alexandria, Alaina, Luna, Gabriel, Luca, Evelyn, and Olivia, will grow up with stories of their grandfather’s humor and warmth.

Joe was the brother to Steve, Donald, and Randy, who join in mourning the loss of a man who was not only a sibling but a true friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Francis “Frankie” Coffey, and seven siblings, with whom he is now joyfully reunited.

Professionally, Joe was known as a skilled carpenter, working with AzCom, where his hands crafted not only structures but also strong relationships with those he worked alongside. His colleagues remember him as a man who could fix anything, a trait that extended far beyond the worksite and into the hearts of those he encountered.

Outside of work, Joe was an enthusiast of life’s simple pleasures. He loved sports, whether it was cheering on his favorite teams or enjoying some competitive betting with his children. Fishing was more than a hobby; it was a way for him to bond with his friends and family, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Gardening was another passion, with Joe taking pride in nurturing his plants and sharing the fruits of his labor with his significant other Cecilia.

Joe’s home was a testament to his love for projects, always finding something to improve or create, much to the delight of his family who benefitted from his handiwork. His collections were a reflection of his belief that everything had value, a philosophy he applied to both objects and relationships.

Animals held a special place in Joe’s heart, especially his pets and the neighborhood cats, who found a friend in him. His gentle demeanor and caring ways made him a favorite among the furry members of the community.

Joe was characterized by his sense of humor, which remained intact until his final days. His ability to make others laugh was a gift that he generously shared, ensuring that even in the saddest of times, a glimmer of joy was never too far away.

Loving by nature, Joe’s affection for his family and friends was boundless. He demonstrated this love not only through words but through countless acts of kindness, always putting the needs of others before his own. His selflessness was a beacon that lit the way for those who knew him, inspiring them to live with the same generosity of spirit.

Ronald Lee “Joe” Coffey will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will be cherished, his stories retold, and his laughter will echo in the hearts of his loved ones forever. Joe’s life was a beautiful journey that touched many, and though he has departed from this world, the impact of his love and kindness will never fade.
