Ron G. Kelly, age 74, proud U.S. Army Veteran, passed away June 24, 2025 surrounded by his family; Beloved husband of Joan, nee Volkman, for 55 years; Loving dad of Mike, Cook County Sheriff (Michelle), and Dawn (Mike) Cahill, Illinois State Police; Adored Papa of Samantha, Ryan, Jack, and Megyn; Dear brother of Jim (Debbie) Kelly, Tom Kelly, and the late Kathleen, Bob, and Wayne Kelly; Cherished son of the late James and Ollie Kelly; Son-in-law of the late Richard and Margaret Volkman; Fond brother-in-law of Jim Volkman and the late Bill (Pam) Volkman, late Richard, and late Judy Volkman; Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; Dear cousin and friend to many, especially his best friend Bob Hopper, who will miss him dearly. Ron thoroughly enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting and school events. Ron was an avid White Sox and Bears fan, he loved golf and bowling and going to the race track.
