Raymond Abbott, Jr.

Raymond Abbott Jr., age 54, of Milton, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving friends and family in Milton, Kentucky. He was born April 27, 1971, in Carrolton, Kentucky the son of the late Raymond and Patricia Irene Townsend Abbott.

Mr. Abbott was a 1989 graduate of Trimble County High School and retired as a lieutenant correctional officer for Roederer Correctional Complex and was honorably discharged from the US Army.

He was an avid outdoorsman, treasure hunter, and an animal lover second only to his family.

His surviving family includes his wife Cathy Snell Abbott; his three sons, Justin Raymond Abbott and James Christopher Abbott of Milton, Kentucky, and Skylar Jones of New Castle, Kentucky; Mother Inge Smothers Abbott of Bedford, Kentucky; his siblings, Christopher Dale Abbott (Amanda) of Milton, Kentucky and Michelle Madsen (Keven) of Indianapolis, Indiana; two nieces, Makayla Abbott of Milton, Kentucky and Tru Lynn Snell of Madison, Indiana; three nephews, Charlie Abbott of Milton, Kentucky and Noah Napier of Bedford, Kentucky, Sam Madsen of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and his beloved dog Cosmo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Timothy Breeden.

A private celebration of his life will be held at the Townsend Family Lake in Pendleton, Kentucky.
