‘Phantom Stallion’ author to speak at Browsers Corner Book Store in Carson City

By Deborah Case — Middle grade kids have a strong and enduring love for horse stories, which are popular because they capture the imagination with themes of freedom, adventure, and a deep bond between humans and horses.

This passion is reflected in a number of horse-themed books, including classics you might remember loving like Black Beauty and My Friend Flicka. Terri Farley, a local author, has captured that magic in her 24 volume, wildly popular Phantom Stallion series. You and your children have the opportunity to meet Terri at the next Browsers Corner Book Store author event on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

According to Amazon.com, customers find these books to be well-written, with great characters and horses. They appreciate their readability, with one reviewer mentioning how it sparked their child’s love of reading. The books receive very positive feedback for their wholesome content focusing on the friendship between a girl and her horse.

Terri Farley has always loved books, horses and wild places. Her Phantom Stallion adventure series (Harper Collins, Simon & Schuster, Audible) has sold over 2 million copies worldwide.  Recently, Farley joined Mark Twain, Ellen Hopkins and other authors she admires in the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame. She has a Master’s degree in journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno and she is an advocate for the West’s wildlife and wild places. Terri works with young people to help them make their voices heard.

Bring your children and join us for a fun author event with Terri Farley, Saturday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. 12:30 p.m. at Browsers Corner Book Store. She will share her engaging horse stories as well as host a Wild Horse Activity Table for all of the kids. Her books will be on sale, just in time for Christmas shopping.

The store is right across from the library entrance at 711 E. Washington Street in Carson City. For more information contact bookstoremanager2022@gmail.com or visit https://friendscclibrary.org.
