Peter Gerhartz

Peter R. “Pete” Gerhartz, age 68, a resident of Warrenville, IL since 2001, formerly of Colorado, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at his home. He was born on March 11, 1957, in Stockbridge, WI.

Beloved husband of Donna M. Gerhartz (nee Dean), whom he married July 26, 1993, loving father of Jessica Gerhartz of Warrenville, Shane (Larissa) Gerhartz and the late Jenna Crandall; devoted son of the late Peter and Karen (nee Schroeder) Gerhartz, son-in-law of the late Ruby Kahler and the late Charles Thomas Dean, dear brother of Paul (Penny), Perry, Patti, Peggy and the late Pam, brother-in-law of Charles (Debbie) Dean, Brenda (the late Ernest) Atwood and the late Barbara (Ray) Milam, fond cousin, uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.

Pete grew up in Stockbridge, WI, was a graduate of Stockbridge High School and moved to Colorado as an adult where he remained for 17 years, before moving to Illinois.

Pete was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Warrenville. He played the guitar and sang and loved hot rods.

A celebration of Pete’s life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, 3:00-7:00 PM at Pete and Donna’s home at 3S644 Wilbur Ave., Warrenville, IL 60555.
