Paul Acitelli

Paul Acitelli passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, in his home, surrounded by his Gantt Homes family who loved him dearly.

He was born on December 31, 1951, in Youngstown to the late Philip and Pauline (Patrick) Acitelli

Paul was a generous, kind, and thoughtful man who dedicated his life to advocating for others, especially those with developmental disabilities. He had a heart for service and lived out his values every day. Whether it was raising money for causes close to his heart or making sure others had presents at Christmas, Paul found joy in giving back. He reminded us all to “have faith and all will work out,” and he truly lived by those words.

Paul wrote memoirs of his daily life and called them his “computer diaries”. These heartfelt entries captured the moments and memories that meant the most to him.  He never accepted “no” as the end of the road—he believed in possibilities, in people, and in always doing the right thing. His hopeful spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Paul will be deeply missed by his Gantt Homes family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon. Where a memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.
