Omar Torres Salicrup
- May 3, 2025

Omar Sharift Torres Salicrup, a Brooklyn native through and through, embarked on his final joyride through the pearly gates on April 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, bass-thumping music, and the smell of burning rubber. Omar—or as his friends knew him, “House, 319, and most recently O”—was a man who lived life in the fast lane, both literally and figuratively.
Born on November 25, 1987, in the heart of Brooklyn, NY, Omar’s zest for life was evident from the get-go. His family, a vibrant crew that includes his wife Laura, daughter Esmeralda Vianey, son Junior, mother Esmeralda, father Rafael, grandfather Felipe, grandmother Juana, eldest sister Ruby Zamady, brother Rafael Jr., sister Princess Yahaira, sister Chastiry, niece Sophia Madison, brother in law Wilfredo, granddaughter Leigha Bella, sister in law Kenia, niece Valentina, nephew Leonardo Felipe, nephew Maximus Lorenzo, nephew Rafael Fernando, nephew Omar Justice, uncle Ephraim, uncle Johny, cousin Kenny, uncle Jimmy, uncle Junior, cousin Edwin, cousin Edwardo, aunt Emma Nidia, cousins Carlos, Franjolie and Giovanni, cousin Michael, friends Matthew, Q, Anthony, Red, Karyna, Johnny and Family, David and Diana, Jr, Annabella, Poppa, Dom, Daniel, and Jaxon will attest that Omar was the heartbeat of every gathering, the one who could turn a frown upside down before you could say “zero to sixty.”
Omar’s work ethic was the stuff of legends. He hustled with the fervor of a man on a mission, hitting the 40-point requirement for SSDI by the tender age of 25—a testament to his relentless drive and the myriad of jobs he tackled. His work history reads like a menu at a diner that serves everything. If there was a job out there, chances are, Omar did it, did it well, and left his coworkers in stitches with his quick wit and boundless energy.
If you knew Omar, you knew his passions. Music was his first love, the louder the better, preferably with enough bass to set off car alarms. His second love? Cars. Fast ones. The kind that would make Dominic Toretto nod in respect. Omar’s spirit was a combustible mix of NOS and nitro, and his heart revved like a V8 engine at the starting line.
But let’s not forget the food and his people. Omar was the definition of ‘ride or die.’ Whether it was sharing a meal or sharing a joke, he was your guy. His presence was like a feast—a smorgasbord of humor, generosity, and passion. If life was a banquet, Omar was the guy going back for seconds, thirds, and even fourths, always with a ready smile and a joke that would make even the sternest of aunts crack a grin.
The words that best describe Omar? Generous, funny, passionate. He was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back, then make a wisecrack about how it looked better on you anyway. His generosity knew no bounds; if Omar had it, it was yours—no questions asked. His humor was a lifeline, a beacon of joy in a world that often takes itself too seriously. And his passion? Unmatched. Whether it was for his family, his interests, or his countless friends, Omar loved fiercely and without reservation.
As we bid farewell to Omar Sharift Torres Salicrup, let’s not dwell on the silence he leaves behind, but rather crank up the volume on our memories of him. He’d want us to celebrate his life with the same exuberance with which he lived his own. So, rev your engines, blast that bass, and share a laugh in his honor. After all, Omar wouldn’t have it any other way.
To the man who lived life loud and left us too soon, we’ll miss your soundtrack, your speed, and your spirit. Keep the party going up there, Omar, until we meet again.
