NHP releases report on fatal crash at Paiute Drive
On November 11, 2025, at approximately 9:12 a.m., the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a report of a crash at the location of US95 just south of Paiute Drive in Fallon, Nevada.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2024 red Dodge Hornet was traveling southbound on US95, south of Paiute Drive in the southbound travel lane. A blue 1999 Kenworth towing an enclosed trailer was traveling northbound on US95, south of Paiute Drive in the northbound travel lane.
The driver of the Dodge Hornet allowed the Dodge to cross the centerline and enter into the northbound travel lane. The Dodge crashed into the Kenworth. The driver of the Dodge Hornet was transported to a local area hospital with life threating injuries.
The driver of the Dodge Hornet, Thomas Waljeski, a 78-year-old male from Malibu, California, succumbed to his injures on November 15, 2025.
The Nevada Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is investigating this crash.
