NHP investigates fatal crash involving bicycle riders in Washoe Valley; US-395 ALT at Pagni Lane reopens

UPDATE 5PM: All lanes are now open on US-395 ALT at Pagni Lane.

A crash involving two bicycle riders and a vehicle Saturday morning resulted in one fatality and one injury, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. The crash happened on Highway 395 ALT near Pagni Lane in Washoe Valley.

NHP preliminary information known at this time is that one adult bicycle rider is confirmed deceased. A second adult bicyclist was taken to an area hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene.

The crash was reported to NHP at 9:02 a.m. and is under investigation.

Highway 395 ALT at Pagni Lane was closed in both directions and has since reopened as of 5 p.m.
