Neville Fearon

It is with deep sadness and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Neville Fearon, of Clarendon, Jamaica, who passed away with loved ones at the dawning of his birthday at the age of 81.Born on April 17, 1944 in Clarendon, Jamaica, Neville lived a life filled with a sense of exploration and adventure. His quiver was full, as he was blessed with his children Ray (Steve), Debbie, Donna, Paulette, Michelle & Maritza.

Neville, lovingly known as Joey, had a deep passion for the natural world, finding immense pleasure and tranquility while planting in his backyard whether big or small. He cultivated vibrant blooms, nurtured vegetables such as lemon and coconut trees with care, and always had his hands in the soil as well as with his construction tools. His garden was not just a hobby; it was a place of peace, creativity, and a tangible expression of his nurturing spirit, often shared with those around him. As a trade, Neville worked in the commercial and infrastructure development of Puerto Rico. He worked throughout the island including in the historic construction of the Caribbean’s 1st and largest mall-Plaza Las Américas.

In his later years, he became a devoted servant to the Lord when he gave his life to Christ back on March 14, 2009. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he was a dedicated member of the First English Seventh Day Adventist Church in San Juan, Puerto Rico for many years. He found strength and community in his church, as a deacon volunteering and participating in weekly bible study. His faith provided him with guidance, comfort, and a strong sense of purpose.

Beyond his do-it yourself home projects, gardening and church, Neville cherished his friendships. He had a warm and welcoming heart. He always made time to visit with friends, offer car rides, or lend a helping hand and made sure to make weekly calls to loved ones. These connections brought him immense joy, and he was a loyal and supportive friend to many. His easygoing nature and genuine interest in supporting others made him a beloved companion.

He is preceded in death by his parents Egbert and Inez. He is survived by his 6 children, 14 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren and 6 siblings- Wolery, Cislyn, Collin, Patricia, Irvin and Harvel. Neville will be deeply missed by his family, wide circle of friends and church family members. He was a kind, gentle, and generous man whose love for life, nature, faith, and friendship touched many hearts.

A memorial service to celebrate Neville’s life will be held at George T. Davis Funeral Home on May 4th at 10am.

Con profunda tristeza y cariñoso recuerdo, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Neville Fearon, de Clarendon, Jamaica, el cual falleció acompañado por sus seres queridos el día de su cumpleaños a la edad de 81 años. Nacido el 17 de abril de 1944 en Clarendon, Jamaica, Neville vivió una vida repleta de un sentido exploratorio y aventurero. Su corazón estaba lleno de vida, ya que fue bendecido por sus hijos, Ray (Steve), Debbie, Donna, Paulette, Michelle y Maritza.

Neville, conocido cariñosamente como “Joey,” sentía pasión por la naturaleza y encontraba inmenso placer y tranquilidad al plantar en su jardín, así fuera grande o pequeño. Cultivaba flores vibrantes, cuidaba con esmero hortalizas como limoneros y cocoteros, y siempre tenía las manos en la tierra al igual que en las herramientas de construcción. Su jardín no era solo un pasatiempo; era un espacio de paz, creatividad y expresión tangible de su espíritu de cuidado, que a menudo compartía con los que lo rodeaban. Como oficio, Neville trabajó en el desarrollo comercial y de infraestructura de Puerto Rico. Trabajó a través de toda la isla, incluyendo el primer centro comercial del Caribe y el más grande: Plaza de las Américas.

En años sucesivos, se convirtió en un devoto siervo del Señor al entregar su vida a Cristo el 14 de marzo de 2009. Su fe fue una parte integral de su vida y fue un miembro dedicado de la Primera Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día Inglesa en San Juan, Puerto Rico, por muchos años. Encontró fortaleza y sentido comunitario en su iglesia, como diácono voluntario y participando en los estudios bíblicos semanalmente. Su fe le otorgó guía, consuelo y un gran sentido de propósito.

Más allá de sus proyectos caseros, la jardinería y la iglesia, Neville apreciaba sus amistades. Tenía un corazón cálido y acogedor. Siempre sacaba tiempo para visitar a su amistades, ofrecerles transporte en carro, darles una mano y se aseguraba en llamar a sus seres queridos semanalmente. Estas conexiones le trajeron inmensa alegría, era un amigo leal y comprensivo para muchos. Su carácter afable y genuino interés en ayudar a otros, lo hicieron un compañero entrañable.

Fue precedido por sus padres, Egbert e Inez. Le sobreviven sus 6 hijos, 14 nietos, 5 bisnietos y 6 hermanos: Wolery, Cislyn, Collin, Patricia, Irvin y Harvel. Su familia, su amplio círculo de amigos y los feligreses de Neville lo extrañarán profundamente. Fue un hombre amable, gentil, y generoso cuyo amor por la vida, la fe y la amistad conmovió a muchos corazones.

El servicio conmemorativo para celebrar la vida de Neville se llevará a cabo en la Funeraria George T. Davis el 4 de mayo a las 10 am.
