JULIUS MAURICE DENZMORE was born and raised in East St. Louis, Illinois, to the loving union of Ellen Lockett and Wesley Denzmore. From the start, Julius carried a light that touched everyone he encountered. His charisma, humor, and big heart made him unforgettable to those who knew and loved him.

Julius received his formal education through East St. Louis School District 189. He graduated in 2004, where he proudly played on the football team as a quarterback. His talent and passion for the game earned him admiration and respect, which led him to further his education and football career at Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas. Julius continued playing semi-pro football over the last five years, staying true to his love for the game and his dedication to teamwork and growth.

Outside of football, Julius had a heart for helping others. At the time of his passing, he was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant through a nursing agency. He approached his work with compassion and care, always ready with a joke, a smile, or a helping hand for the residents and staff he worked alongside.

One of the most meaningful moments in Julius’s life was meeting his beloved fiancĂ©e, Tia Berry.

Julius leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his four cherished children, Julius Denzmore Jr., Jamir Arch, Jamylah Denzmore, and Journie Denzmore. He also lovingly embraced his role as a stepfather to James Harrell Jr. and Adonis Shepard.

He is survived by his devoted parents, Ellen (George) Lockett-Moore and Wesley Denzmore; his brother, Jonathan Denzmore; his sister, Kemora Denzmore; and his stepsiblings, George Moore Jr. and Terrell Moore. He also leaves his beloved grandmother, Girtha Lockett. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and a very special uncle, Tim Lockett, with whom he shared a close bond.

Julius will be remembered with deep admiration for his warmth, humor, and the unwavering love he gave to his family and friends. His smile lit up rooms, his laughter was contagious, and his presence left a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who knew him.
