Michael Land

Michael Joe Land, 54, of Brady, Nebraska, passed away on July 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 8, 1970, in Lexington, Nebraska, Mike was the beloved son of Gary and Dianna (Parks) Land.

A true cowboy at heart, Mike spent his life working in feed yards and found deep purpose in the work he loved. Whether he was riding horses, competing in rodeos, or teaching others the value of grit and hard work, Mike embodied the cowboy spirit.

On June 16, 2006, Mike married Stacey Sabin, and together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and shared adventures. He was a proud father to Cole Land, Memory Trosper, Mason Sabin. Nothing brought him more joy than being grandpa to his grandchildren—Oliver Michael and Ryette Elizabeth Sabin and Charlee Rae Land—who lit up his world.

Mike loved the outdoors. Camping trips with family and friends were some of his favorite memories. Around a fire or under the open sky, he was in his element—sharing stories, laughing loudly, and offering a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

He will be remembered for his generous spirit, unwavering work ethic, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy will live on in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the lives he touched.

Mike is survived in death by his wife, Stacey Land of the Brady/Gothenburg area; son Cole Land of Fullerton, NE; stepchildren Memory (Roxanne) Trosper of Gothenburg, NE and Mason (Rachael) Sabin of Norfolk, NE; grandchildren Oliver and Ryette Sabin of Norfolk, NE and Charlee Land of Fullerton, NE; parents Gary and Dianna Land of Bladen, NE ; brothers Travis (Jennifer) Land of Farnam, NE and Marvin (Stacey) Roth of Milford, NE; nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Vivian Land of Oconto, NE and James and Jean Parks of Lexington, NE; his sister, Kim Mohlman of Red Cloud, NE; his son’s fiancée, Courtney Johnson of Clarks, NE; and several aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 3 p.m. at the Lonestar Cowboy Church near Farnam, NE. In honor of Mike’s love for the cowboy way of life, attendees are welcome to wear boots, hats, and jeans. All are welcome to join the family for a meal at the Hitchin’ Post following the service. Memorial gifts may be made to the family.

He rode hard, loved deeply, and lived fully. Mike Land will be deeply missed.
