Maxwell Grady

Maxwell C. Grady passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, at the age of 95, in Mendon, MA. Born on August 24, 1930, in Norwood, MA, Maxwell was the beloved son of the late Charles and Inez Grady.

Max was a Korean war Veteran. After the service he returned to Norwood and worked as a land clearer and logger. When he met his late wife Charlene Grady, they moved to Mendon to raise four children on their Christmas tree farm. Once retired Max continued working at Peter Brook Saw Mill, Bellingham, where the Burrs had become a second family to him. In his more recent years his caretaker Joanne Busker had become a friend and an integral part of his daily life assisting Max with living independently in his home to the very end. Everyone who met Max always noted on his gentle soul and easy-going demeanor. Max enjoyed outdoors, hiking and nature walks in the woods and his cats.

He is survived by his children, John M. Grady and his wife Alena of Edgartown, and Corrina A. Yarush and her husband Vincent of New Hampshire. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Justin, Brianna and her husband Ben, Sawyer, Wyatt, and Christina, as well as several great-grandchildren who brought him immeasurable joy. Max had been predeceased by his children Donna and Roger and granddaughter Kristii. He will be greatly missed as his quiet, unwavering presence, guidance and life advice he had made a tremendous impact on the lives of many people he is leaving behind.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 11AM in the Highland Cemetery, 320 Winter St., Norwood, MA.
