Mary McCann-Lutz

Mary Jo McCann – Lutz passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at the age of 63. She was the loving wife of 26 years to Bill Lutz; devoted mother of Thomas Lutz (Brittany); and adoring grandmom to Tommy Lutz. Mary was the cherished sister of Joe McCann (Diane), Kathleen Brown (Bob), Mike McCann (Dawn), Patty Bowes (Rick), and Liz Sees ( Jack). She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.

Born in Dover, Delaware, to her parents Joseph and Mary McCann, Mary Jo was raised in the Oxford Circle neighborhood of Philadelphia. She proudly dedicated 43 years of service to ACME Markets and many years at the HCEF Credit Union where her strong work ethic and cheerful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Mary was tough when she needed to be, but with a heart full of compassion. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and love of life. She embraced every moment with laughter and light, bringing joy wherever she went. Her smile was contagious, her friendship unwavering and her love and support endless. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and a reminder to live life fully and joyfully. She was a member of LAOH 17 and proud of her Irish heritage. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures- watching old movies, the Hallmark Channel, and spending peaceful and often crazy days at the shore. Above all she cherished being “Mimi” to her beloved grandson Tommy. Bill was the love of her life, and together they shared a precious life filled with laughter, love and lasting memories.

Relatives and friends are invited to Mary’s Life Celebration on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at St. Anselm’s Church, 12670 Dunks Ferry Road, Philadelphia, PA. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, 17.
