Lyon County Sheriff: Fatality in Dayton being investigated as possible hit and run
On Thursday, May 29 at approximately 4 p.m., Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a call for service for a male subject near the roadway in the 700 Block of Dayton Valley Road in Dayton, Nev. Law enforcement and medical personnel responded to the scene and located a male subject who appeared to be in some sort of medical distress. The male subject was transported by medical personnel to Carson Tahoe Hospital for treatment.
On the evening of Thursday, May 29, Carson Tahoe Hospital staff informed the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office that the male patient had injuries consistent with a possible hit and run type accident. The male patient was flown via Careflight to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nev. where he succumbed to his injuries.
On the morning of Friday, May 30, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Division began a scene investigation in the 700 Block of Dayton Valley Road. This investigation is currently ongoing.
