Lucie D. O’Connor passed away on April 1, 2025, at Emerald Peek Nursing Center in Peekskill, NY. She was 94 years old. Daughter of the late Josef and Elsa (Schmitt) Hering, she was born in Mannheim, Germany, on July 4, 1930.

Lucie was the Deli Manager for IGA in Highland Falls, NY. She was a proud member of Sacred Heart Church, the Highlanders Senior Citizens, the “Lunch Bunch,” and a member of the Cornwall Yacht Club for 25 years. Additionally, she also volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Doris (Alfred) Deutsch of Savannah, GA; son-in-law, Lee Favre of Highland Falls, NY; grandchildren: Erik (Kelly) Favre, Erin (Brian) Phelan, Alison ( Michael) Paroulo, Charles (Gina) Deutsch, Erika (Travis) Harrell, and Ryan Deutsch; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lucie was also predeceased by her husband, Charles O’Connor; daughter, Theresa J. Favre; and her six siblings.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Vanessa Brown, Denise, and Erika Ochoa, and the Right at Home agency for their excellent loving care and support for Mom at home, and later to the staff at Emerald Peek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their dedicated and professional service, which eased our burden and provided much comfort to Lucie.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Highland Falls, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main St., Highland Falls, NY. Interment will follow at Highland Union Cemetery.
