Lindel Guy Golden, a resident of Belle Plaine, Kansas, and a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on October 15, 2025. Born on February 5, 1930, in Degray, Arkansas, Lindel lived a full and active life, touching many hearts along his journey of 95 years.
Lindel was a man of many passions and interests. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as fishing and photography. However, he was not just an enthusiast but also a craftsman, creating and flying radio control and control line airplanes. Lindel also enjoyed the thrill of riding motorcycles.
His passion for flight wasn’t limited to his hobbies. Lindel served in the Air Force for 22 years from 1947-1969, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. After retiring from the military, Lindel carried on his work with accessories and instruments for several civilian aircraft companies. His contributions to his country and his work remain a testament to his character and dedication.
Lindel is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Roberta Jo Golden; his children, Vickie (Rick) Wagner and Jeffrey Golden; his sixteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Katie Golden, and his brother, Laron Golden.
A memorial service in honor of Lindel will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Belle Plaine Community Center, 528 North Merchant Street, Belle Plaine, KS 67013.
Memorial donations may be made in Lindel’s memory to the American Legion 211 in care of David Heater. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
