Linda Arellano (Vargas) peacefully passed away on September 24, 2025. She was a longtime resident of Pilsen community residing in Garfield Ridge. Beloved mother of Cynthia (Anthony) Morales Sr. and the late Jesse Arellano Jr. (Pancho). Also survived by Jesse Arellano Sr.
Her love and guidance touched her cherished grandchildren Anthony Jr. (Belinda), Deanna, Jesse, and Jaclyn. She delighted in her role as great grandmother of Joclyn, Damian, Cristian and great-great grandmother to Mia and Bella.
Linda was the dear sister of the late, Dolores Vargas, Cruz Vargas, Mary Lopez, Samuel Vargas, and Rita Rodriguez. She is also preceded in death by her parents Guadalupe and Petra (Zamora) Vargas.
Linda had joyful spirit and a love for life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed the excitement of a casino trip, the thrill of doing her lotto scratch off tickets, and the entertainment of watching her favorite show, Wheel of Fortune.
Her laughter lit up every room, her warmth a comfort from all, and her unwavering compassion left a lasting imprint on the hearts of everyone she knew her. Her Catholic faith was the guiding force of her life. She lived each day with devotion and grace. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and be cherished.
A Celebration of Life Mass will he held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 5252 S. Austin Ave, Chicago, IL 60638.
