Layne Johnson

Layne Michael Johnson, age 60, of Warsaw, died on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – St. Mary’s Campus, Rochester.

Memorial services will be held at Peace United Methodist Church, Morristown on July 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Derek Harvey, officiating.

Memorial visitation will be held at Boldt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Faribault on July 17, 2025, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Layne Michael, son of Jerry and Beverly (Clemmensen) Johnson, was born on July 31, 1964, in Faribault. Layne married Cindy Royal on September 13, 1997. During his career, he worked at the Faribault Woolen Mills, Park Electric, Healy Construction, BMI, Interstate Improvement, and Timm’s Trucking. In his spare time, Layne enjoyed building model airplanes, drag racing, hunting, fishing and working in his yard. Above all, he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends.

Layne is survived by his wife, Cindy; son, Christian Johnson; mother, Beverly Johnson all of Warsaw; brothers, Trevor (and Colleen) Johnson of Kenyon and Tarrin (and Patricia) Johnson of Warsaw; father in law, Paul Royal; step-father in law, Ken Leppert; sisters in law, Paula (and Mike) Ahlman and Samantha (and AJ) Mechura; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Johnson; brother, Lance Johnson; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Helen Johnson; maternal grandparents, Clem and Mildred Clemmensen; mother-in-law, Carol “Carrie” Leppert and cousin, Travis Johnson.
