Katherine Bruzzone

Katherine Bruzzone passed away peacefully on March 21st, surrounded by those who loved her. She has now joined her husband of 75 years, John Bruzzone, who preceded her in death in November 2018.

Born Katherine Colombo in Richmond, CA, she spent her entire life in the East Bay. Katherine was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and a loyal friend to many.

Katherine had a natural talent for everything she took on-whether cooking, sewing, knitting or creating a home. She took pride in her surroundings and brought comfort and beauty into everyday life.

Katherine & John raised two daughters, Suzanne Doherty (C.J.) of Lafayette, and Julie Goldstein (Jeff) of Rye, New York. She was a cherished grandmother to Joe, Jack, & Peter Doherty and to Carly & Lex Goldstein. Her great- grandchildren- Cullen, Reed, Charlie, Blythe & Archie brought her great joy.

Katherine spent many years working as an elementary school secretary, where her warmth and patience left a lasting mark. She found deep happiness in caring for others and sharing the gifts of her time and talents.

A Catholic Mass celebrating Katherine’s life will be held on Thursday April 24th at 11:00 am at St. Perpetua Church in Lafayette.
