Karli Pirro

Karli Dena Pirro, adored and beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. She was lovingly known by many nicknames, including The Bubba, Ricky, Auntie Kar Kar and K Pirro The Superhero. It is hard to put into words exactly what she was like, because she was so unique and special… unlike anyone else.

Karli had the purest soul. She never judged anyone and accepted everyone with open arms. She truly lit up a room with her smile and wit. She had a peculiar sense of humor and infectious laugh that brought endless joy.

Karli loved astrology. While not judgmental, she was quick to evaluate a person based on their astrological sign, and to decide relationship compatibility based on birth charts. She was not shy about telling anyone that a new love interest was a very bad match. If someone annoyed her, she would write it off as part of their astrological sign. “Oh, you’re such a Gemini.”

For all of her natural beauty, with perfect skin and hair, she lacked physical grace. If there was a way to bump, drop or break something, she found it, much to the amusement of those around her.

She left the world on a high note, just starting an exciting new job and celebrating her loved one’s milestones.

Karli did not care about material things, instead revolving her life around the friends and family she loved so fiercely. We could all learn something from her. As a psych major, she was constantly analyzing people and feelings, but she always came to the same conclusion… everyone needs to just “live and be happy.” For those of us reeling from her loss, we will try to honor her every day by following her mantra.

She is survived by her mother, Reina Pirro, her father and stepmother, Richard and Maureen Pirro, and her siblings, Jessica Gasthalter and Otto Espana.
