Joyce Ponte wins Big Backyard BBQ giveaway at 2025 Carson Tahoe Home & Business Expo
The 2025 Carson Tahoe Home & Business Expo wrapped up with excitement as Joyce Ponte of Carson City was announced as the winner of the Expo’s highly anticipated Big Backyard BBQ Giveaway, valued at $2,300. Her name was drawn at the end of the event’s final day, capping off a weekend that brought together the region’s top home improvement specialists and several local businesses.
Hosted inside the Carson Mall Shopping Center, this year’s Expo featured vendors offering everything from remodeling solutions to lifestyle upgrades. The giveaway prize package included a NEXGRILL BBQ donated by HOME DEPOT, a case of premium beef from Truckee Meadows Gourmet Express, a professional cutlery set from CUTCO, a full set of BBQ tools and accessories courtesy of The Event Source and a gift card from Play It Again Sports.
One of the standout attractions was the 15-foot illuminated putting green at the Top Tier Turf booth, which quickly became an attendees’ favorite. Guests also enjoyed interactive games and giveaways at the Plato’s Closet booth, adding to the festive atmosphere of this family-friendly event.

Planning is already underway for next year’s event, scheduled for Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, 2026, and promises to be bigger with expanded displays featuring home improvement and outdoor recreation.
“This was our third year for the Expo, and we believe by diversifying the event next year to include outdoor recreation displays outside the mall we will be able to expand the Expo and become an anticipated annual event for the Carson region.”
