JOHN MORRISON

John Spencer Morrison, 59, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Kindred Hospital North Florida in Green Cove Springs following an extended illness.

John was born in South Miami and had lived in Douglas, GA most of his life. He was a disabled American vet and had served honorably in the U.S. Army . He was formerly employed by Walmart in Douglas and had also worked several years as a housekeeper for many homes in Douglas. He loved animals and especially loved his dogs, “Blue” and “Crazy.” He was of the Baptist faith.

John ws preceded in death by his father, Robert Morrison, Sr., and his step-father, Gary Wayne Sorrell.

Surviving are his mother, Terri Sorrell; a brother, Robert Morrison, Jr.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Tammy Essex (Walt), and Jennifer Peeples (Wayne); several nieces and nephews; a very close friend, Robert Harper; and many other friends in Douglas.

No services will be held locally.   A  memorial service with military honors will be held at a later date.
