John Meadows

John James Meadows, age 60, of Powells Point, NC, passed away on July 25, 2025, at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. Born in Farmville, VA, on December 10, 1964, to the late Lewis Edward Meadows and Ellen Doris Slepowicz Meadows, he was the husband of Norma James Trumps Meadows. He worked as a skilled carpenter with Meadows Home Improvements. John enjoyed bowling, arcade games, cornhole, and volleyball. Working with his hands brought him great satisfaction, so gardening and woodworking were perfect pastimes for him. Most of all, he loved playing with his grandkids.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Crystal Dawn Meadows, Amanda Lynn Meadows, and John Michael Meadows; his loving sisters, Cindy Adams and Amy Winstead; his brother, Roger Meadows; and his grandchildren, Cassidy Contreras, Cameron Meadows, Carter Contreras, Owen Meadows, and Weston Walsh. John was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Donnie Meadows and Ronnie Meadows.

His presence will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will remember him for his dedication and strong spirit.
