John J. Colantuno, of White Plains, NY, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on March 7, 1931, in Eastchester, NY, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Fiorina (née Calandra) Colantuono.
A proud Marine veteran, John served with the 8th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, at Camp Lejeune from 1951–1953. He later worked over 40 years as a crane operator with Local 137. He was an active member of the American Italian Club of Elmsford and the Antonio Meucci Lodge 213 in White Plains. John was an avid golfer and bowler, a dedicated Yankees and Giants fan, and a passionate gardener. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends.
On June 14, 1959, John married his beloved wife, June (Jean), in White Plains. They shared 56 years together before her passing in 2015.
John is survived by his children, John Colantuno (Theresa) of Valhalla, Karen Fischer of Thornwood, and Sharon Marino (Joseph) of North Salem; eight grandchildren, John (Chyenne), Daniel (Janine), Alyssa (Steven), Nicole, Christopher, Olivia, Michael, and Gabrielle; and his great-grandson, John. He is also survived by his sisters, Rose Philippo and Madeline Pizzuto.
Besides his wife and parents, John is also predeceased by his siblings: Peter Colantuono, Joseph Colantuono, Antonette Colantuono, Lillian Allegreta and Mary Colantuono.
