Mr. Jeffrey Davenport went to be with Jesus on October 16, 2025, in Ft. Worth, Texas, at the age of 62, following complications from a failed surgery.
Born in December 1962, in Dallas, Texas, Jeff was the middle child of six in the Davenport family. He grew up in Granbury, where he attended Granbury High School and built a life rooted in faith, family, and community.
Jeff is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Devora Sue Davenport; his son Jeff L G Davenport of Eastland; and his daughters Ashly and Kelsey. He also leaves behind his beloved mother, Martha Davenport; his sister Madonna and her husband Rickey Andrews; his brother Charles Davenport; and his sister Lisa and her husband Kelly Norman, all of Granbury. Jeff was a proud grandfather to Trenton, Abby, Jayden, Ariel, Logan, Jaxon, and Zachary. He is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends whose lives he touched deeply.
He was preceded in death by his infant granddaughter Adeline, his father Edwin Davenport, his brothers Larry and Thomas Davenport, and his nephew Robert Wildt IV.
Jeff had a strong faith in God and he found daily inspiration in the teachings of Pastor Allen Jackson on TBN, which brought him comfort and strength. His spiritual life led to his generous and kind-hearted nature.
Despite suffering from arthritis, Jeff was always ready to lend a helping hand. He had a passion for life’s simple pleasures—good food, fishing with his wife, watching football, collecting antiques and old coins, and sharing stories and jokes that brought laughter to those around him. He had a special fondness for looking up at the night sky in search of UFOs and cherished the moments spent “pick’n a guitar” on the porch at his mom’s house with his nephews.
Jeff’s legacy is one of warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will continue to bring comfort and joy to those who knew him.
He will be laid to rest in Granbury, Texas. Service arrangements are currently undecided. Trenton Davenport has a GoFundMe account for needed funeral expenses in lieu of flowers.
May his memory be a blessing and a source of peace to all who loved him.
