Jeffrey Alan Alvey passed away into the presence of Jesus, on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at his home in Crawford, Texas.
Memorial Service: 10:30 AM Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, Waco, Texas.
Graveside Service: Full military honors at a later date at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery .
Jeff, as he was known by everyone close to him, was born in Augusta, Georgia to Alan Keith and Emma Torres Alvey on December 6, 1980. He grew up with a strong work ethic, playing sports, earning a black belt in taekwondo, and working nearly full-time while in high school. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served proudly for six years. Jeff was gifted as a mechanic and truly loved working on C-130 engines. During his military career he was stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska and then at Dyess AFB in Abilene, Texas where he met his wife. He also served multiple tours of duty in both Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. After he was honorably discharged, he continued to work on C-130s at L3 in the Waco area.
Jeff was very proud of his service and work, but of all his highest accomplishments, his family was his proudest achievement. He adored his three children, wife, parents, and of course his dog, Clark, who was his constant sidekick. Also close to Jeff’s heart was watching his beloved Georgia Bulldogs play football. He grew up going with his dad to watch the Dawgs play in Athens, Georgia, and he and his dad continued to share a strong bond throughout his life. Jeff had a sharp wit and loved making people laugh, often known for delivering one-liners with impeccable timing. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him, but especially by his family, whose days will have far less love and laughter without him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Emma Torres Alvey, grandmothers, Sarah Carpenter and Elsa Torres, and grandfather Emilio Torres.
Left to carry on his legacy are his wife, Stephanie Alvey; children, Emelia, Anastin and Ian. Also left to carry on his love are his father, Alan Keith Alvey, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with a host of friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to family, friends, and co-workers for being a help to them during this difficult time.
