Jason Maki

It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jason Scott Maki, 52, of Lowden, IA on Friday, March 7, 2025 in Lowden. He was born on March 7, 1973 in Ironwood, MI, the son of Jerome and Patricia Maki. Jason and the love of his life, Becky (Borowiec) Maki had their first child Caitlin in 1994 and married in 1995. Their second child, Mitchell, was born to complete their family in 1997. Jason enjoyed raising and watching his kids grow in every aspect of their lives.

He attended school in Ironwood, MI graduating with the class of 1991. He was an avid hockey player and track star for many years. Still to this day Jason holds the record for the 400m. He thrived in the 100m, 200m and 400m dash. Jason loved the outdoors and took pride in hunting, running and enjoying the simple things nature has to offer. Whatever activity he set his mind to he embraced it with his entire focus and attention until something else piqued his interest. One of his favorite things to do was making people laugh and he enjoyed seeing people smile. His smile and laugh were contagious. He loved the family he was married into and celebrating holidays with his loved ones. Jason also loved music and enjoyed attending concerts. One of his favorite places was his cabin and spending time with Becky and their German shorthairs Payton, Daylee, and Ruby.

Jason is survived by his loving wife, Becky, of 29 years; his children Caitlin (Chase) Collins of Hilbert, Wisconsin and Mitchell (Tori) Maki of De Pere, WI; two granddaughters Presley and Bailee; his father Jerome (Karen) Maki; mother Patricia Maki; sister Lisa Schultz; half brother Jared Boucher; grandparents Walter (Grace) Maki; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Anne Forslund, grandfather Ozzie Forslund and his favorite aunt Margie Novak.
