James Childers
James Michael Childers, age 66, of Tollesboro, Kentucky passed away, Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Maysville, Kentucky.
He was born Wednesday, December 31, 1958, in Newport, Kentucky to the late Leonard and Flossie Willoughby Childers.
He was a retired Pipefitter from Ranger Steel and was a member of Burtonville Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to outdoor events.
James is survived by his three sons, Christopher (Khrysten) Childers of Maysville, Kentucky, Joshua Childers (Elizabeth Appleman) of Germantown, Kentucky, Cory Childers (Hayley Rich) of Coldsprings, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Hadleigh Childers, Joshlynn Childers, Maverick Childers, Rhett Childers, Jonah Childers and Marlie Childers; one brother, Leonard Childers of Louisville, Kentucky; one sister, Connie (Gary) Tucker of Dover, Kentucky, also he is survived by his significant other of 18 years, Karen Thomas, her children, Kindra Vice, Kimberly Miller, Kyle (Shelby) Thomas; grandchildren, Tristian Miller, Ely Doyle, Gabriel and Samuel Miller, Arya Amberley and Erika Thomas along with many other family and friends that will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 10, 2025 at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 KY 57, Tollesboro, Kentucky, with his son, Christopher Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bracken County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 10 a.m., Friday, October 10, 2025, until the service hour at Tollesboro Funeral Home.
Christopher Childers, Joshua Childers, Cory Childers, Kyle Thomas, Ely Doyle and Gene Brannen will serve as pallbearers.
