James Bradley, a longtime resident of Brewster, New York, passed away Saturday,
October 18th, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 95 years old.
Jim was born November 16, 1929, in Belfast, Ireland, son of the late John and Jane
(Collins) Bradley. He came to the United States in the 1930’s with his Mother, and two
older brothers, John and Robert, where they united with their Father. The family settled
in the South Bronx, and the family grew to include four more brothers – Michael, Eddie,
Tommy, and Billy. Jim attended St. Luke’s Catholic school, on East 138th Street in the
Bronx, and attended Technical College in New York City.
Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 2, 1948, and served in the Korean War, until 1953. Jim was in the 165th
Infantry Regiment, also known as “The Fighting 69th”. On September 12, 1959, Jim
married Katharine T. Parsons, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, on Marion
Avenue, just off Fordham Road in the Bronx. They moved to Starr Ridge Manor, in
Brewster, New York, 63 years ago, and became active members of St. Lawrence
O’Toole Church. Jim worked as a Field Supervisor for Western Electric (later became
AT&T) for 35 years, retiring in 1989.
Jim will always be remembered as a loving and generous father, grandfather and
uncle, to numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was a hardworking family man of
integrity, honor, and kindness, who did not take a moment to slow down until the day
before he passed away. Jim lived the vows he took with Katharine – to love, honor and
protect until the day he died. Besides his wife, Jim is survived by his daughters Jean
Bradley-Brennan, of Brewster, New York, Sue Bradley, of Sarasota, Florida, Kat Clark
and her husband Mark, of Long Beach, California, and his son Jay Bradley and his wife
Cindi of Kauneonga Lake, New York, Grandchildren Katherine, Annie, Emily, Ian and
Colette, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his Parents and
six brothers.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday October 21, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at
the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY. And a mass of Christian
burial will be celebrated Wednesday October 22, 2025, at the Chapel in Gate of Heaven
Cemetery in Hawthorne.
