Howard McCoo, Sr.

Life Reflections:

Howard McCoo Sr. was born on October 27, 1937. He was the second child of Houston and Henrietta McCoo of Mount Pleasant, Texas.

After graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in Mount Pleasant, Texas, he earned a business degree from Texas College. Then, he served two years in the United States Army.

Howard and Claudester were united in marriage on July 1, 1960, in Dallas, Texas. They gave the world three children: two sons and one daughter. Their children gave them seven grandchildren.

He retired from Texas Instruments after 30 years of service. 

Howard embraced Christianity at a young age and dedicated over 50 years to serving in the churches he was a part of, fulfilling roles such as Sunday School teacher, Finance committee member, and Deacon.

For almost 30 years, he has been a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas.

He found joy in spending his time with his family and in the countryside tending to his land and taking care of his cattle.

Howard McCoo Sr. was preceded in death by his loving wife, Claudester; his parents Houston McCoo and Henrietta; his brother, Harold McCoo and his wife, Dorothy.

Those left to remember Howard McCoo Sr. include his sister, Hazel Groce and her husband, Luther; son, Howard McCoo Jr. and his wife, Felecia; daughter, Petra Bolden; son, Brian McCoo and his wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Travis Bolden, Kenya (Alex) Brown, Ashley Bolden, Megan Bolden, Xavier McCoo and his wife, Felicia, Royal McCoo, Marcus McCoo and a host of extended family and friends.
