Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Helen Bonnie Hoffpauir Richard, 79, who died Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 4:57 p.m. at Maison Du Monde Nursing Home in Abbeville.

Pastor Steve Delino will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to service time. The burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Mrs. Richard is survived by two sons, Raphael Dean Richard, Jr. and his wife Patty of Abbeville, Timothy Richard of Estherwood; daughter-in-law, Aimee Richard of Gueydan, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raphael Richard, Sr.; her son, Jessie Richard; her parents, Emmett and Nora Thompson Hoffpauir; four sisters, Debra Hoffpauir, Margaret Romero, Joyce Lacombe and Catherine Leger; one brother, Jessie Lawrence Bageaux.

The family wishes to thank Traditions Hospice, Maison Du Monde Nursing Home especially Aimee Richard for their loving care and compassion for Mrs. Richard this last month.
