Harvey Ost

Harvey J. Ost, long-time Phoenix resident, and widower of Selma Ost nee Feferholtz, passed away peacefully and naturally, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the age of 100 years and 9 months. He is survived by his 2 sons, Gary and Alan (Kara), and his 4 grandsons, Stephen (Erika), Isaac, Robert, and Matthew. A fifth grandson, Jordan, predeceased him.
Harvey was born, raised, and educated in New York. Following high school graduation, he served for two years doing radio intelligence in the US Army during WWII. Upon being honorably discharged, Harvey attended New York University and earned a bachelors degree in accounting. Now with a career and some earning potential, he convinced the love of his life to marry him, and they had a marriage that lasted just shy of 61 years until Selma’s passing.
Harvey and Selma raised two successful sons and enjoyed teaching and playing with their grandsons. In 1979, Harvey and the family moved to Arizona where he opened his own accounting practice which thrived until his retirement.
Harvey was laid to rest on March 28, 2025 at the Phoenix Memorial Park cemetery.
