It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenn Gary Banning, who passed away at his home on November 4, 2025. Glenn’s life was marked by dedication to his family, work, and community.

Throughout his career, Glenn contributed his talents to several esteemed companies, including BASF, American Enka, Jacobs Engineering, and Champion Spark Plug. His professional endeavors were a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

A man of faith, Glenn was an active member of Mills River United Methodist Church, where he found spiritual nourishment and community. His involvement in the Boy Scouts of America also reflected his belief in service and leadership.

Glenn G Banning was the son Glenn E Banning and Cecilia D Banning of Mountain Home, NC

Glenn is preceded in death by his beloved son, Jack Banning. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his devoted wife of fifty three years, Karen Banning; Martin and Jennifer of Wake Forest, NC; Ryan and Courtney of Little River, SC; Shelby Pettit (niece); and his sister, Carolyn Angus of Etowah, NC. Glenn was also the proud grandfather to Caleb, Caroline, Alexandria, Austin, Maddi Grace.

A service to honor and celebrate Glenn’s life will be held at Mills River United Methodist Church on November 15th at 2:00 PM, officiated by Luke Christy. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a man whose life touched many.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Blue Ridge Humane Society or Mills River United Methodist Church, organizations that reflect Glenn’s values and passions.

May Glenn Gary Banning rest in eternal peace, his legacy carried on by those who loved him dearly.
