Geneva Sanders Majors, born October 5, 1936, was a native of Jena, LA where she graduated from Jena High School. After spending some time in Houston, she moved to Baton Rouge, where she worked at LSU and for the State of Louisiana where she met her future husband, Ray Majors, who was attending LSU. They began their marriage and ministry by visiting nursing homes and relief pastoring for various churches. In 1957, upon the death of Rev. Floyd Majors, Geneva and Ray moved to Melville and took leadership of the First Pentecostal Church. In 1961, they expanded the church to its current location. She was always an active member of the church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Geneva was a true matriarch of the family and mentor to all especially other ministers’ wives.
