Gayle Trussell
Gayle Trussell, 94 of Star City, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born February 20, 1931, to the late Elmer and Ethel Morris Chandler in Clovis, New Mexico. Gayle was the oldest member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and also the music director for many years. She was a farmer and a member of the Lincoln County Cattleman’s Association. Gayle loved playing on her iPad, doing games and puzzles, enjoyed music, and going on cruises. She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchild, most of all.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Dale Trussell; one still-born son; four brothers, John Chandler, Thurman Chandler, Raman Chandler, and Hershel Chandler; and two sisters, Vonnie Williams and Oma Johnston.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Dale Trussell (Linda) of Heber Springs and Michael Duane Trussell (Virgina) of Missouri; two daughters, Brenda Trussell Brown (Charlie) of Star City and Rebecca Arlene Trussell Case (Danny) of Glendale; three biological grandchildren, Stacey Gayle Gragg (John) of Lincoln, Anthony Aaron Owen (Michele) of Bryant, and Brandi Jo West (Brannon) of Star City; four great-grandchildren, Dakota Alan McKeown, William Carroll Owen, Harper Elliott Owen, and Addilyn Saige Hopkins; one great great-grandchild, Alekzander Jay McKeown; a good friend Willie Mae, and many extended family and friends.
Viewing will be 9:00-9:30AM Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:00AM at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. A celebration of life will follow at 10:00AM with Bro. Jackie Richardson officiating. There will be no formal graveside service. Burial will be at Palmyra Cemetery.
